OK, I just had to post this, as in-jokey as this may be (which is partly why it's so dope!). This was done by my friend Morgan of iwishihadapenguinfriend.com fame, way back in March of 2006. We were working at the same company at the time (which is where we met and became friends), and sometimes we would meet up after work for happy hour. Not only we were able to enjoy discounted drinks and food at these hours of happiness, we also had the chance to make some memories, people, as you can see from this awesome comic that Morgan drew for me. The girl with the curly hair, in case you were wondering, is me (notice that I lose the glasses in the last panel - true love and dancing has corrected my vision, it seems). My scanner is acting funny, so if you can't read the dialogue that well, please read this transcription:
1st panel: I'm not gonna fall in love!
2nd panel: But, Lissette... I will take you to South America, where we will dance all night!
3rd panel: Dammit...
Those who know me well are aware of the fact that there are very few things that I can't resist - chief among those things are 1) clandestine trips to South America, 2) dancing, and 3) guys with nice shoulders who offer to take me on clandestine trips to South America for dancing.
I was at a recent happy hour with Morgan and another friend when I mentioned this particular strip - as soon as Morgan said that she vaguely remembered the comic, I just knew that I had to post this. Maybe some of you will not get this, but it's my blog, so I do what I want!
