Coffee shop drawings, March 21st
I had finished up a wine tasting just hours before doing these drawings (don't worry, I wasn't even buzzed by the time I did these) so I was in a pretty good mood as I sat and sketched away. These were done at Silverlake Coffee and Casbah Cafe, as you can see from my chicken scratch. There were so many great faces to draw that day, particularly at Casbah. The lady at the top right-hand corner of the drawing on the bottom was particularly striking - she had one of the longest necks I've ever seen, and a very interesting, pretty face. I loved drawing her messy bun, and also loved the fact that she was so focused on whatever she was reading that she didn't notice me looking at her as I drew her, even though I was sitting right next to her.
