I was at Intelligentsia and Casbah a lot last week - on Sunday July 11th, after watching the final game of the World Cup at the Red Lion Tavern and getting inspired by the spectacle and a little weak in the knees from seeing all of the smoking hot players, I decided to hang out at Casbah. I ended the day at Intelligentsia, which I'm liking as a drawing spot more and more. I love that terrace they have, which gives me interesting drawing opportunities like catching a dude on a motorcycle, as you can see in the 4th drawing from the top. I was checking out a book recently that recommended drawing people while they walk, which I've been trying to do more and more - I had a wonderful drawing teacher in high school who studied at the Art Students League in New York and was a bad-ass, who mentioned in a class once that he had a teacher that had told him that, if you were walking down the street and saw a man jumping out of a building, you should be able to draw the man as he fell. I kind of aspire to be that fast.
