Figure Drawings from January

These drawings are from when I went to the Culver City workshop in January. I have to say, I was really jazzed to see that we had a male model that day, and not only a male model, but a fantastic, fearless one. This dude was athletic and would do amazing, painful-looking poses that he would hold for five minutes, which may sound like nothing but is practically an eternity when you imagine yourself holding the same crazy poses. I want to draw more nude male models, but it seems like a lot of the figure drawing classes/workshops that I've been to have exclusively female models. When I took figure drawing in high school we NEVER had a nude male model, only chicks, and I've only drawn two other male models, ever. One other figure drawing workshop that I go to every now and then supposedly never has male models because less people show up to draw male models than do for female models. I don't know how true that is, but I definitely would like more practice drawing male nudes, particularly if they are as amazing as this model was. If anyone knows of workshops that have some competent male models let me know, as I'd love to find out about such workshops.
